Ingredients

Scale

For the Slider Patties:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 for the juiciest texture)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (helps keep patties moist)

For Cooking & Assembly:

  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil (for cooking)
  • 6 slider buns (or Hawaiian rolls for a sweeter touch)
  • 6 small slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or Swiss)
  • Toppings of choice: Lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, caramelized onions, ketchup, mayo, mustard

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Patties:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and mayonnaise.
    • Gently mix until just combined (avoid overmixing to keep the meat tender).
    • Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape them into small, flat patties slightly larger than the buns (they will shrink while cooking).
  2. Cook the Sliders:

    • Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add butter or oil.
    • Place the patties on the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, pressing slightly for a nice sear.
    • In the last minute, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese.
  3. Toast the Buns:

    • While the patties cook, lightly butter the buns and toast them on the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Assemble the Sliders:

    • Spread your favorite sauce on the toasted buns.
    • Add a patty, followed by your preferred toppings.
    • Top with the other half of the bun and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra juiciness: Use 80/20 ground beef and don’t overcook.
  • Make-ahead tip: Shape the patties in advance and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before cooking.
  • Grill option: These sliders can also be cooked on an outdoor grill over medium heat for about 2–3 minutes per side.
  • Mini smash burgers: Press the patties flat on the skillet for crispy edges and a juicy center.
