- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chicken broth (reserved from cooking the chicken)
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Cook the Chicken
- In a large pot, bring chicken, broth, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to a simmer.
- Cook over medium heat for 30-35 minutes, or until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Remove chicken, shred into bite-sized pieces, and set aside. Reserve 2 cups of broth for the dressing.
2. Prepare the Cornbread Dressing
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix crumbled cornbread, crumbled bread, celery, onion, poultry seasoning, sage, black pepper, and salt.
- Stir in shredded chicken, reserved broth, beaten eggs, and melted butter until well combined.
3. Bake the Dish
