Ingredients
(Serves 6-8)
- 1 loaf brioche or challah bread, cubed
- 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 4 large eggs
- 1 ¼ cups milk (or heavy cream for extra richness)
- ¼ cup maple syrup or honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Powdered sugar & extra strawberries for topping
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Baking Dish: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
2️⃣ Assemble the Casserole: Spread the cubed brioche bread evenly in the dish and layer with sliced strawberries.
3️⃣ Make the Custard: In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and melted butter.
4️⃣ Soak & Bake: Pour the custard over the bread, pressing gently so the bread absorbs the mixture. Let it sit for 10 minutes (or refrigerate overnight for extra flavor).
5️⃣ Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and set.
6️⃣ Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar and top with extra strawberries. Enjoy!
Notes
