This Cabbage and Egg Recipe is a quick, simple, and nutritious dish that’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a light dinner. With just a few ingredients, this dish comes together in under 15 minutes, making it an excellent low-carb, high-protein meal. Stir-fried cabbage provides a slightly sweet and tender bite, while scrambled eggs add protein and richness. Enjoy it on its own, or serve it with rice, toast, or as a filling for wraps!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage (green or napa cabbage)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or butter)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon soy sauce (optional, for extra umami)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika or chili flakes (optional, for spice)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients – Shred the cabbage thinly and mince the garlic.
  2. Cook the Eggs – Heat ½ tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan, scramble lightly, and cook until just set. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Cabbage – Add the remaining ½ tablespoon of oil to the pan, then sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the shredded cabbage, salt, and black pepper, and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until softened but still slightly crisp.
  4. Combine & Season – Return the scrambled eggs to the pan, add soy sauce (if using) and paprika, and stir everything together for another 1–2 minutes.
  5. Serve & Garnish – Transfer to a plate, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve warm!

Notes

  • Add more protein: Stir in diced chicken, shrimp, or tofu for a heartier meal.
  • For extra flavor: Try adding a dash of oyster sauce, fish sauce, or grated cheese.
